The difference between a cheap plastic eyesore and a professional finish is the clip-on mechanism that hides mounting hardware. I have spent hours analyzing buyer feedback to see which plates actually sit flush against the drywall without bowing. My analysis suggests that the Leviton Decora Plus is the only one I would trust on my own walls. Let’s look at why this simple upgrade is the cleanest look you can get.

1. Leviton 2-Gang Decora Plus Screwless Wall Plate, 80309-SW, White
This plate earns the top spot because of its resilient sub-plate that snaps firmly into place, ensuring the outer cover stays locked down without wiggling. It transforms a basic switch into a sleek, architectural detail that looks like it was installed by a master electrician.
I prefer this model because the white finish matches industry-standard outlets perfectly. It creates a smooth, continuous surface that makes your room feel updated, although you must ensure your electrical box is mounted flush to avoid any noticeable gaps along the edges.
Buyers frequently appreciate how the two-piece design makes installation straightforward.
The most common praise centers on the minimalist aesthetic achieved once the cover snaps on.
A frequent point of caution involves checking that your wall surface is flat before installation.

Choosing Between Them
I recommend the Leviton Decora Plus for homeowners seeking a polished, professional appearance without the high cost of custom fixtures. It is the best choice for anyone who wants to hide unsightly screws and achieve a seamless, modern look throughout their home.
Keep in mind that these plates are sensitive to the depth of your switch box. If your box is recessed too deep, you might see a small gap between the wall and the plate, so verify your box depth before starting the project.
